The Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club will inject $104,500 into Feature Races conducted by the Club over the next 18 months. These increases are in addition to the increases to Feature Race prizemoney announced recently by Racing Queensland.

Brisbane Club President, Mr Dale Cartwright said the Club decided to increase its funding commitment to Feature prizemoney from the $32,000 provided in 2013/14 to $45,000 in 2014/15 and then $60,500 in 2015/16.

Mr Cartwright said the increases were funded from the returns from the international export of racing vision of the Club’s races and via returns from the Club’s investment portfolio. “We are delighted to be able to inject further prizemoney increases into our feature races”.

Mr Cartwright announced that the Club’s two Group One sprint races, The Garrard’s Winter Carnival Cup and the SKY Racing Brisbane Cup would for the first time carry a winner’s purse of $100,000 each, with total prizemoney for each race climbing to $146,000.

The prizemoney for the Club’s Group Two age-restricted classics, The Macro Meats Bogie Leigh Futurity and the Brandons Queensland Derby has been increased to $75,000, with $50,000 to the winner of each event.

In addition the Listed Events, the Flying Amy Classic and The Superstayers Invitational will increase to $40,000 in prizemoney.
