The Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club (BGRC) today advises stakeholders following advice from Racing Queensland (RQ), the Club will enforce strict attendance measures at all race meetings and public trial sessions commencing Tuesday 17 March 2020.

To mitigate the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), attendance will only be permitted to the following essential stakeholders for continuity of business:

  • Licensed trainers (or representative) with a runner engaged;
  • Licensed handlers/catchers with a direct and necessary work engagement
  • Race officials
  • Club staff and essential contractors
  • Accredited Media

Following developments of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) over recent days and updated medical advice from health officials, the BGRC has initiated appropriate action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all stakeholders in the greyhound racing community.

The BGRC advises greyhound owners, Club members (who do not qualify as essential to race meeting), sponsors, and members of the general public will not be permitted to attend the Albion Park Raceway as part of the new attendance restrictions until further notice.

The BGRC will continue to vigilantly monitor advice from State and Federal health officials, along with Racing Queensland, and will advise of any further changes to Club operations if required.
